Our Story

The Open Tuesday wine group first met in Rome in 2013. We were a group of diplomats, military attachés, and wine friends who shared an enthusiasm for small-production organic and biodynamic Italian wines. We decided on Tuesday because people tend to be free on Tuesday, and all of us wanted something to look forward to early in the week.

Some years have passed since our Rome group disbanded, but we still think weekdays could use a little of that Open Tuesday spirit. More than ever, we believe that the artisanal Italian wines we gathered to enjoy are the wine world’s premier sweet spot, where you can find both incredible value and incredible joy in the same bottle of wine.

These are the hidden gem wines that we’ll offer and share with you. Our selections are produced in limited quantities – you certainly won't find them in the supermarket! You also won't find them with the big online wine clubs, which sell thousands more bottles a month than our producers make in a year.

Nowadays, we don't always have friends around on Tuesday night, but we still try to open a few delicious bottles of wine throughout the week. Join us when you can. If you think about it, Tuesday needs good wine as much as Friday.
